Oliva
Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba in 1886. His growing operations were suspended while he fought in Cuba’s War of Independence. After returning from war Melanio resumed his operations. In the early 1920’s Melanio’s son Facundo Oliva took over the growing operations. Facundo cultivated the Oliva family fields for several decades. As Cuba became overrun by the Communists, the tobacco landscape changed. Facundo’s son Gilberto Oliva shifted from growing to brokering tobacco. In the early 60’s the pressure became too great and Gilberto traveled from country to country in search of the distinct Cuban taste. His travels took him to Honduras, Panama, Mexico and even the Philippines. Gilberto finally found fertile ground in Nicaragua. Today Gilberto along with his family are Nicaragua’s second largest grower of Cuban-seed tobacco.
Nub Cigar
NUB Cigars was never meant to follow the status quo — it was created to redefine it. Born from a question that most cigar makers never asked, NUB set out to find the point in every cigar where flavor, body, and balance peak — the elusive “sweet spot.” That idea came to life in 2008, deep in the heart of Nicaragua. The concept was simple but revolutionary: what if you could experience the best part of a cigar… from the very first draw?
Developed and hand-rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua — a region revered for its rich volcanic soil and time-honored cigar heritage — the NUB was unlike anything else on the market. Short, stout, and unmistakable, its unique vitola delivered a full smoking experience in a compact form. Smokers were intrigued. Then they were hooked. NUB had found its lane — and filled it with flavor, character, and confidence.
Plasencia
Plasencia Cigars has a rich history rooted in Cuba, dating back to 1865 when Don Eduardo Plasencia began growing tobacco. The family's dedication to tobacco cultivation and cigar production continued through generations, facing challenges like the Cuban Revolution which led them to relocate to Nicaragua and Honduras. Today, Plasencia is a major player in the cigar industry, known for both tobacco growing and their own branded cigars.
La Flor Dominicana
La Flor Dominicana (LFD) cigars were founded in 1996 by Litto and Ines Gomez in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Initially, the brand was named "Los Libertadores," but it was later changed to La Flor Dominicana. The name, meaning "The Dominican Flower," is inspired by the flower of the tobacco plant. Litto Gomez, a former jeweler, transitioned to cigar making and, along with his wife Ines, built the brand into a highly respected name known for its bold blends, innovative shapes like the Chisel, and estate-grown tobacco.
